About the NCDC

We are committed to developing a relevant, high-quality national curriculum that empowers learners and builds a peaceful and prosperous South Sudan.

To design, develop, and review a relevant, inclusive, and high-quality national curriculum, along with supportive materials, to meet the diverse learning needs of all South Sudanese children and youth.

An educated, informed, and empowered citizenry capable of contributing to the peace, development, and prosperity of the Republic of South Sudan.

Our Mandate

The National Curriculum Development Center (NCDC) is a key directorate within the Ministry of General Education and Instruction. We are mandated to:

  • Develop, review, and evaluate curriculum for all general education levels.
  • Design and develop textbooks, teacher's guides, and other learning materials.
  • Advise the Ministry on all matters related to curriculum and instruction.
  • Conduct research to inform curriculum policy and practice.
  • Set and maintain standards for educational materials.
